
Barracudas lose season finale

San Diego, California - The RGV Barracudas dropped the season finale to the San Diego Sockers by a final score 13-3 on Saturday night at the Valley View Casino Center.
During the first quarter, Rio Grande Valley got on the board first via a Reynol Fuentes Jr. goal off an Emmanuel Garcia pass to make it 1-0. San Diego would then go on to score five goals highlighted by braces from Matt Clare and Anthony Medina to make it 5-1.
In the second quarter, the Sockers would continue to extend the lead as Clare added his third goal on a power play goal that made it 6-1. Barracudas midfielder Antonio Manfut scored a power play goal to make it a 7-2 game. Max Touloute and Brian Farber would score goals for San Diego that extended its advantage to 9-2.
After the intermission, San Diego scored the 10th goal of the night when Hiram Ruiz added his name to the score sheet and made it a 10-2 game. Kraig Chiles potted the 11th goal for San Diego to make it 11-2.
In the last quarter, Brazilian defender Luiz Mota scored the third goal for RGV to make it 11-3 score line. Medina added his third of the night to make it 12-3 in favor of San Diego. Chiles scored goal 13 for the Sockers to make it 13-3 final.
RGV goalie Fidel Garcia took the loss on nine saves and his record is now at 2-11.
