
Barracudas drop road trip finale

Monterrey, Mexico ---- The RGV Barracudas drop the final game of their three-game road game by a final score of 13-6 to the Monterrey Flash on Sunday evening at Arena Monterrey. Monterrey Flash sweeps the season series against the RGV Barracudas by taking all four games.
The Flash (17-0) scored the opening goal of the game when Armando Teran found Edgar Gonzalez on a power play goal to make it 1-0 game. The Barracudas tied the game at one when Salvador Luna found Antonio Manfut. RGV would gain the lead when Fernando Moreno scored on an even strength goal to make it 2-1. Julio Reyes made it 3-1 for the Barracudas as took advantage of a defensive mistake. Monterrey would trim the deficit when Carlos Pichardo found the back of the net off a Lourenco Andrade pass to make it 3-2.
In the second quarter, the Flash scored seven goals which were highlighted by a pair of goals by Erick Flores one which came on a power play to regain the lead at 9-3.
After the intermission, the Flash scored once again via an Omar Santillan goal off a Carlos Farias pass to make it 10-3. The Barracudas (3-16) would score twice when Moreno found the back of the net once again to make it 10-4 and Oscar Ventura potted an Ismael Pineda to make it 10-5.
In the last quarter, the Flash continued their scoring ways by adding three more goals as Carlos Hernandez, Miguel Vaca and Gonzalez all tallied goals to make it 13-5. Antonio Manfut added the last goal for the Barracudas to make it a13-6 final.
RGV goalie Fidel Garcia took the loss on seven saves and his record is now at 2-8.
