Buffalo Bandits News Release
Buffalo, NY- The first place Buffalo Bandits (9-1) increased their divisional led over rival Rochester Knighthawks (7-4) with a 12-10 victory Friday night.. The Bandits used an aggressive defense to disrupt the Knighthawks high-powered offense. The Bandits defense was led by game MVP Kyle Cooling who controlled Rochester ¬â¢s star forward John Grant for the entire game.
Mike Accursi (4G, 1A, 5P), Mark Steenhuis (2G, 2A, 4P) and Bandits newcomer Lindsay Plunkett (2G, 1A, 3P) led the way for the Bandits offensively. Derek Malawsky (3G, 1A, 4P) and Chris Schiller (3G, 0A, 3P) each netted three goals, but it wasn ¬â¢t enough for Rochester.
Bandits ¬â¢ goalie Steve Dietrich stopped 42 shots on the night, picking up his 8th victory of the season. Pat O ¬â¢Toole turned away 40 shots and picked up the loss for Rochester.
The Bandits will be in action next, Saturday, Mach 15th in Philadelphia at 8:00p.m. On March 21st, the Bandits return home to host the Ottawa Rebel at 7:00p.m.
