Bandits Ready For Tryout Camp

The St. Louis Bandits will host their only tryout camp of the season this weekend at the Hardee's IcePlex in Chesterfield, MO. For the next 3 days over 100 players from all over the world will be auditioning for the 2009-10 Bandit roster. The coaching staff has very high hopes for the weekend, "This is a going to be a great weekend," said assistant coach Rocky Russo. "We have a fantastic group of young men traveling from all over the country to tryout this weekend. With players coming from as far as Russia there will be no shortage of talent."

The camp begins at 2pm on Friday afternoon with player registration. University of Connecticut Assistant Coach Devin Rask will address the players at 3:30pm and the first game begins at 5pm. On Saturday the first game begins at 9:00am and the day will be highlighted by a speech by Dr. Mike Murphy of the St. Louis Rams. He will be covering the topic of nutrition and getting a physical edge on your opponent.

The camp will wrap up on Sunday morning at 10am with the all-star game. The top 40 players in the camp will be invited to play Sunday morning, with the best of the best earning an invitation to the team's pre-season training camp in August. "Tryout camp is always an exciting time," said Russo "It's great to see next season's team start to take shape."
