
Bandits defeat Traverse City 6-2

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI - St. Louis took the first game of a two game weekend series against Traverse City on Saturday night 6-2. St. Louis began the scoring early in the game on a goal by Mike Leone. Traverse City knotted the game at one on a goal by Brett Englebright four minutes later. The Bandits took a 2-1 lead in the second period on a blistering slapshot by Scooter Vaughn on the power play. Traverse City tied the game at two on a shorthanded goal by Aaron Pietila midway through the second.
The Bandits came out strong in the third period with a flurry of four goals. Kyle O'Kane started the offensive explosion on a pass from Mike Leone. Todd Pococke scored midway through the third on a breakaway to give the Bandits a 4-2 lead. Vaughn scored to make it a 5-2 game and Gawrys added a shorthanded goal as the Bandits cruised to a 6-2 victory.
