Baltimore Burn Tryouts Continue for the 2004 Season

Glen Burnie, MD - The Baltimore Burn of the National Women's Football Association (NWFA) will hold the second of four player tryouts for their 2004 season on Saturday.

The first tryout, held on Saturday, September 6th, saw a small, but determined group of women who took their first steps in their quest to become members of the Burn.

Saturday's tryout will be held at the Bachman Sports Complex in Glen Burnie from 12:30 PM to 7:30 PM. There will be two additional tryouts, also at the Bachman Sports Complex, on Saturday, October 4th and Saturday, October 11th, 2003.

Participants will go through a series of drills, including a timed 40 yard dash, shuttle drill and other football-related activities. All women trying out must be at least 18 years old and must provide a photocopy of a picture id and their health insurance card. The non-refundable tryout fee is $35. Anybody wishing to volunteer his or her services for the 2004 NWFA season are also encouraged to attend.

The Baltimore Burn is a women's full contact football team of the National Women's Football Association (NWFA). After an inaugural, no-win season in 2001, the Burn managed to become the 2002 Mid-Atlantic Division Champions with a 7-1 record and finished the 2003 season at 6-2.
