
Ball Suspended for two Games

(Rochester, NY)...The United Soccer Leagues announced that the Rochester Raging Rhinos appeal for midfielder John Ball's three game suspension has been denied.
Ball, who has already sat for one-match, will sit out two additional USL First Division matches. Ball was issued the suspension for an incident in the Rhinos' 2-0 road victory over the Atlanta Silverbacks on July 4th. During the match, Ball was issued a red card, along with Silverbacks defender Joe Afful. Ball will miss Friday's match at Richmond and Saturday's match at Virginia Beach.
Ball, the 5-11, 155-pound, from Hartford, Connecticut, returned to Rochester this season after playing 18 games during the 2000 season with the club. In 11 games with the Rhinos this season, Ball has collected seven points (3+1). Last season, Ball played in 21 games with the Atlanta Silverbacks (First Division), scoring three goals and adding five assists (3+5). Ball has also spent time in the A-League with the Carolina Dynamo (1997), Staten Island Vipers (1998), Charleston Battery (2001) and the Milwaukee Wave United (2003). Ball has played in 147 matches, scoring 31 goals and adding 43 assists for 105 points in his First Division (A-League) career.
