Bakersfield Blaze News Release
The Blaze bashed out 13 more hits, and Josh Ravin dominated for 5.2 innings as Bakersfield swept 3 in High Desert with a 12-6 win in the finale.
The Mavs scored first in this one, grabbing a run in the bottom of the 3rd, but it was largely Bakersfield from that point forward.
In the 4th inning, back-to-back triples by Ryan LaMarre and Josh Fellhauer tied the game at 1 before Brodie Greene went yard for his 3rd time in the series, and the Blaze took a 3-1 lead that they would not relinquish the rest of the way.
One inning later, the Blaze would bat around on High Desert starter Forrest Snow (L, 2-3), scoring 5 runs, all with 2 outs, and opened up an 8-1 lead.
The Mavs fought back with 1 unearned run in the 5th off Ravin (W, 2-7), 2 in the 7th and 1 in the 8th, but the Blaze put this one away in the ninth. Jorge Jimenez came up with the bases loaded and cleared them off with a double to leftcenter, his 3rd, 4th and 5th runs batted in of the game, and that was all she wrote.
Drew Bowman worked the final 1.2 innings to calm down High Desert's comeback effort and collected his first save of the season.
The Blaze are off on Tuesday, but open a 3-game homestand with the San Jose Giants on Goodwill Giving Wednesday at Sam Lynn Ballpark. First pitch is at 7:45pm, and the game will be broadcast live at BakersfieldBlaze.com starting with the pregame show at 7:35pm.
