"Bachelorette" Star Jamie Blyth to Play for Wildcats

May 21, 2003 - United States Basketball League (USBL) - Jackson Wildcats News Release

General manager Mike Sweet announced today that the Adirondack Wildcats have signed “Bachelorette” star Jamie Blyth. He will be in uniform for tonight’s game against the Kansas Cagerz. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Blythe, a native of Chicago, was one of five finalists on ABC’s “The Bachelorette” earlier this spring. Since appearing on the show, Blyth has been a guest on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” discussing his struggles with anxiety disorder. He’s also appeared in “Parade Magazine” and on ABC’s “Where are They Now.”

Prior to appearing on “The Bachelorette,” Blyth played professional basketball in Sweden.

“We strive to bring a total entertainment package to Glens Falls,” said Sweet. “Jamie is not only a nationally-known celebrity, he has played basketball professionally, and should be a great addition to our club.”

Blyth will be available to meet with fans and sign autographs after tonight’s contest.

The Adirondack Wildcats are in their second season in the United States Basketball League (USBL). The USBL is considered “The League of Opportunity” and has sent 137 players to the NBA since its inception in 1985.
