Binghamton Senators News Release

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators secured their second win of the season tonight, topping the Rochester Americans 3-1 at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial in Rochester.

The game was scoreless until late in the first period when David Dziurzynski put Binghamton ahead 1-0 at 18:19. Mark Stone and Jared Cowen would assist.

The B-Sens scored again at 16:55 in the second period as defenseman Patrick Wiercioch scored on a power play with Cowen and Derek Grant drawing the assists.

The Amerks came out in the third looking to even the score. Forward Kevin Porter, assisted by Zemgus Girgensons and Mark Mancari, netted one past Robin Lehner at 6:20 to put his team on the board. However, the B-Sens were able to regain their two-goal lead when Dziurzynski scored his second goal of the game, unassisted on an empty Rochester net with just 14 seconds remaining in regulation.

Lehner was named the first star of the game as he stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced.
