B-Sens Send Three to Elmira

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that defenseman Ben Blood and forward Louie Caporusso have been reassigned to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL from Binghamton by the club's National Hockey League affiliate Ottawa Senators. Also today, the B-Sens have loaned forward Jack Downing to Elmira.

Blood, 23, is a plus-two through two games with the Jackals so far this season.

A native of Plymouth, Minn., Blood completed his fourth and final season of college eligibility in 2011-12 with the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux. He played in 42 games recording three goals, 18 assists and 73 penalty minutes.

The 6-3, 232-pound defenseman also appeared in four games with the B-Sens last season.

Caporusso, 23, split the 2011-12 season between Binghamton and Elmira. In 29 games with the Jackals last season the Woodbridge, Ont. native recorded 16 goals and added 16 assists. He appeared in 13 games for the B-Sens, recording no points.

Downing, 23, also split the 2011-12 season between Binghamton and Elmira. In 47 games with the B-Sens last season the native of New Canaan, Conn. recorded nine goals and eight assists. He appeared in 25 games with the Jackals recording 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) and posted an assist in four Kelly Cup playoff games.

The 6-3, 210-pound forward skated in the B-Sens' 2-1 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Oct. 13, recording no points.

All three players are expected to dress for the Jackals tomorrow as they host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 p.m.

The B-Sens host the Hershey Bears tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are $19 for side seating and $18 for end seating.
