AUSTIN, Texas (www.austinaztex.com) - Aztex Coach Adrian Heath has agreed to a contract extension with the club today, which will put him in red and white stripes through the 2013 season.

"Obviously I'm very pleased to get it all sorted out," Heath said. "We worked very hard over the last few months to move the club forward and we will hopefully continue that in the next few years to make it bigger, stronger and even better."

Coach Heath and Austin are in the midst of a record-setting season, in which they've blazed a trail for the future with an offensive explosion. The Aztex have currently scored 11 more goals than the second most prolific offense in the USSF D-2 Pro League and hold the key to their own playoff destiny and the No. 1 overall seed.

"I'm delighted that Adrian has committed to three more years and am very much looking forward to working with him to take the club to the next level," Aztex President and Owner Phil Rawlins said. "I think he's doing an outstanding job in 2010 and I can't wait to see what's in store in the years to come."

In Austin's first season in professional soccer, Heath led his team to five wins and then rebuilt and restructured his roster in the offseason. The moves have immediately paid dividends as the Aztex have nearly tripled the amount of wins with five games still yet to be played.

"We've come a long way in a very short period and we have to build on that now," Heath said.

Austin has five games remaining on its regular season schedule before its first playoff game on the road on October 6.
