Auditions Scheduled for 2012 Cheerleading Squad
October 17, 2011 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Georgia Force News Release
Duluth, GA - In order to maintain their place as the Arena Football League's most skilled, dedicated unit, the Georgia Force Cheerleaders add new talent on a yearly basis. This year is no exception. Cheerleading auditions for the 2012 season will be held on Sunday, November 20, to be preceded by a series of five optional prep classes.
"Throughout the audition process, we'll be looking for the total package," said Joie Ashworth, director of the Georgia Force Cheerleaders. "That won't necessarily be the best dancer or the most beautiful girl in Atlanta. A Georgia Force Cheerleader should be fun yet intelligent. She should be beautiful but have a great work ethic as a team member,"
Preliminary and semifinal audition rounds will be held at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth. The squad will be looking for enthusiastic ladies with an athletic, dance, or cheer background, a positive attitude, a winning smile, and a dedication to be the best. Candidates must be 18 years old or older by November 20. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. with auditions getting underway at 10:00 a.m. Prospective cheerleaders should bring a $30 non-refundable application fee, a recent photo/snapshot, valid government ID, and optional resume. Snack and water are also recommended.
"The ideal team member will be able to dance and entertain the Georgia Force fans on game day, but also be able to make a positive impact in her community every day," said Ashworth. "We are looking for ambassadors that can stand side by side with our fans, team owners, and community leaders and represent the Georgia Force in the most positive light."
Prior to the auditions, prep classes will be held on five dates at a pair of locations, starting Monday, October 24. The cost of the first four classes will be $25 each, with the fifth and final class costing $40 and including a fitness/glamour chat session with the team's trainer and hair & makeup artist.
Those who pre-register for at least one class will receive more freedom in choosing when they would like to audition, while those who pre-register for two or more classes receive the same along with complimentary video analysis and personalized tips on how to improve. Additionally, all prep class registrants will receive a complimentary one-month membership at L.A. Fitness.
