St. Louis Attack News Release
St. Charles, MO - The St. Louis Attack (3-2) head to Bloomington, Illinois this Saturday, May 2 to square off with the Edge (3-1) at the US Cellular Arena.
The Attack are coming off a 48-23 victory over the Marion Blue Racers last Friday at the Family Arena. The Edge have won their last two games and presently occupy the spot ahead of the Attack in the X-League standings. With only three regular-season games remaining for the Attack, Saturday's contest is vital to keeping their playoff hopes alive. Bloomington occupies the third spot in the standings and the top three teams will earn a trip to the post-season. If St. Louis defeats Bloomington on Saturday, the Attack will edge ahead of the Edge in the standings by virtue of having one more win and the same number of losses. The Attack and the Edge have met one time this season, a 47-45 Attack victory at the Family Arena on April 11.
The Attack will journey to Bloomington with two new faces as the team added Micah King and Patrick Wells this week. King hails from East St. Louis, Illinois. He played collegiate football at Joliet Junior College before transferring to Southern Illinois in 2004. He has played professionally for the Spokane Shock (AFL), San Antonio Talons (AFL) and Iowa Barnstormers (AFL). Wells is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and played college football at Ferris State University in Michigan. He has played professionally for the Sioux Falls Storm (IFL), Utah Blaze (AFL), Omaha Nighthawks (UFL) and Tulsa Talons (AFL).
Following Saturday's trip to Bloomington, the Attack journey to the State Farm Arena in McAllen, Texas on Sunday, May 24 to clash with the Rio Grande Valley Sol, who are currently undefeated (3-0). The Sol defeated the Attack 60-43 on April 4 at the Family Arena. The Attack wrap up the regular season at the Family Arena when they host the Corpus Christi Fury Saturday, May 30 at 7:35 p.m. The Attack defeated the Fury in Corpus Christi March 29.
The Attack are members of the X-League, with ten teams for 2015. Group and individual game tickets are now on sale. For more information, call the Attack office at 636-477-6363.
