Atlantic City Blackjacks Assign Two Players to Roster
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ- The Atlantic City Blackjacks announce that two players have been assigned to the team roster. Per League and team rules, terms are not disclosed. The free agency signing period for the Arena Football League began on Monday, March 4.
Micanor Regis, Defensive Line
Hailing from Pahokee, Florida Regis played for the University of Miami from 2008-2011 on the defensive line. There, he played in 45 games for the Hurricanes. His play resulted in a career total of 112 tackles (52 solo), 5.5 sacks, three interceptions and a touchdown. He has spent some time on two practice squads in the NFL. First, he was on the Atlanta Falcons in 2012 and then he was with the Carolina Panthers.
Randall Jackson-Clemons, Offensive Line
Another player has made the training camp roster from the open player tryouts. This brings the total number up to three players signed from the tryouts. He is from Eads, Tennessee and collegiately played for Georgetown College for four years. He played at offensive tackle, offensive guard and defensive end. In 2017, he went overseas to play for the Munich Cowboys of the German Football League. There, he started in 14 games with the Cowboys. He was a team leader for the Cowboys and during his time off he coached the 17U and 18U teams in Germany. He brought the 17U team to the championship. After returning from Germany, he was signed by the Iowa Barnstormers. There he played center for 16 games and brought them to the championship game, which they won.
"Tryouts were very efficient, no funny business, it was a very serious workout," said Jackson-Clemons. "The coaches evaluated footwork, power and speed and judged how you could think when you were tired from the drills. Coach James was looking for consistency and accuracy, he stopped and fixed incorrect drills and showed us how to correct them. I enjoyed every second of the tryouts, there was great competition, great coaches and I had a lot of fun out there."
