Atlantic City Blackjacks News Release

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - The Atlantic City Blackjacks announce that Jason "Coffee" Jones will join the radio team as a Color Commentator for broadcasts throughout the 2019 season. Coffee will join Nick Kosko, Play-By-Play Announcer for the Blackjacks, for pre-game, in-game, and post-game broadcasts.

A veteran of the game, Jones made his professional debut with the Louisville Fire in 2007 and also played for the Quad City Steamwheelers in 2009, both teams were a part of the AF2. His transition to the AFL came in 2010 with the Cleveland Gladiators. Jones played for multiple Arena Football Teams including the Milwaukee Mustangs, Pittsburgh Power and Philadelphia Soul. In 2014 he joined the Cleveland Gladiators again and was a part of the best regular season ever, they went 17-1. Jones was a part of two ArenaBowls as a player, first in 2013 with the Soul and again in 2014 with the Gladiators. For his AFL and AF2 career, Jones has 17 touchdowns as a TE and FB. In 2015 Jones retired and began a career in broadcasting under Ron Jaworski at ESPN and NFL Films. He was also a part of the broadcasting crew in 2016 and 2017 with the Soul for their ArenaBowl appearances.

"I'm extremely excited to join the AC Blackjacks for this inaugural season of the franchise," said Jones. "This is an organization that has been built from the ground up, with phenomenal ownership, veteran coaches and a determined staff with one unified goal in mind...bringing a championship to the Boardwalk! I have lived Arena Football for many years, and I have an unrivaled passion for the game. I can't wait to share it with the fans on the Jersey Shore and beyond!"

"I am really excited to have 'Coffee' join the broadcast team," said Kosko. "His knowledge is top notch for this type of football. Not only will he be entertaining fans throughout the season, but he can educate new fans of the game and get them hooked on Arena Football. This season can't come soon enough, the dynamic duo is ready to get started!"

"We are thrilled to have Jason as part of our broadcast team in Atlantic City," said George Manias, Chief Operating Officer of the Blackjacks. "Jason's knowledge of the game and relationship with the players will bring a great dynamic to our broadcast and compliment Nick on the play-by-play."

Kickoff time will be announced at a later date. The Blackjacks will play their first ever home game at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Saturday, May 4 against the Columbus Destroyers.
