The phenomenon that is American Idol meets the gridiron on June 28th as the Atlanta Xplosion welcome American Idol's Vanessa Olivarez to the field to sing the National Anthem. Vanessa, who calls Atlanta home, surpassed over 50,000 hopefuls to become a part of the elite group of finalists who set record television ratings and are about to embark on a nationwide tour.
With her bright pink hair, and her booming vocal talent, she impressed audiences and judges alike with musical selections including "You Keep Me Hanging On" and "Out Here On My Own" Vanessa also proved that she could stand up to the toughest critics by besting outspoken judge Simon Cowell in a memorable exchange following one of her performances.
