Atlanta Xplosion Announce Awards, National TV Spot

The Atlanta Xplosion held their first annual awards ceremonies Sunday, Septmeber 7th in the midst of a television shoot for The Learning Channel show "A Makeover Story."

The crew has been in town shooting for 3 days with Xplosion Kicker Sara Ann Hudson and her Mom, who were presented to the ceremony crowd to a rousing ovation and cheers.

While an airdate for the show hasn't been announced, the producers of "A Makeover Story" wanted to show that a female football player can not only be tough on the field, but also can look great off the field as well.

After Sara Ann and her mother were "revealed" to the crowd, which gathered in the grand ballroom of The Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown, players, coaches and staff, dined on award winning cuisine while catching up with happenings in the off season.

Awards for the 2003 Atlanta Xplosion were presented in several categories, including "The Gertrude Beniamino "Heart" Award for both offensive and defensive players who excelled not only on the field, but gave of their time and talent off the field as well.
