
Atlanta Leopards Gear Up for Season Opener

The Atlanta Leopards, one of the 37 teams in the National Women's Football Association, is suited up and ready to kick off it's 2004 season on April 3, 2004.
The Leopards will host the Chattanooga Locomotion. The game will begin at 7pm at Osborne High School. The address is 2451 Favor Rd, Marietta, Georgia. For tickets and directions to the stadium, please visit the Leopards website at www.atlanta-leopards.com.
LaTonya Watters, owners of the Leopards says her team is ready to play and ready to show the fans just how good women's full contact football can be.
"We're excited to be starting our 4th season and know that our fans around the country will be out in force supporting their favorite teams.
The NWFA, which is the largest league in the world for women's football has an impressive track record with over a half a million fans attending games around the country, a website that receives between one and 3 million hits monthly and media attention that covers the spectrum from the Tonight Show with Jay Leno to the New York Times and NBC.
And, while the 2004 season is starting, the NWFA is already looking ahead to the 2005 season and licensing teams in new cities including Cincinnati, Louisville and the Antelope Valley in California. Former NFL and Bengal star, Ickey Woods recently purchased the license for the Cincinnati team and joins top world champion boxer, Roy Jones Jr., one of the owners in the league.
