Atlanta Blaze Welcomes Kyle Hannan to the Coaching Staff

KENNESAW, Ga. - The Atlanta Blaze is pleased to announce a tremendous addition to the coaching staff, Kyle Hannan. He is currently the Head Coach at Mercer University the only Division I Men's Lacrosse program in the state of Georgia. Hannan will be joining the Atlanta Blaze coaching staff as an assistant coach effective immediately.

"I am honored to be able to join the Atlanta Blaze organization. I would like to thank Owner- Peter Trematerra, Vice President- Liam Banks and General Manager- John Tucker for offering me a position on the Blaze coaching staff. Working along side coaches, Tucker, Ford and Huntley will be an invaluable experience. Being part of the Atlanta Blaze in their inaugural season makes this opportunity very special" said Coach Hannan.

Coach Hannan graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Salisbury College to which he immediately returned for his master's degree. In addition, he owns Game Ready Lacrosse, a series of camps that boasts being able to coach lacrosse "The Right Way," and involves creating a professional learning environment for lacrosse players that are trying to better their game. Hannan's passion for the game was spurred on by his knowledge of physical education and his love for the game.

Hannan's professional lacrosse achievements most recently include being named "Winningest Coach" in the Atlantic Sun Conference following his 2014 championship with the Mercer Bears. He has won numerous "Coach of the Year" awards for both the Atlantic Sun conference and the Landmark conference. Coach Hannan has been a member of the All-American committee multiple times, giving him knowledge of the best students and players of the game. This knowledge he has accumulated over the years will be brought to the Atlanta Blaze. Coach Hannan recently earned his 200 th game win and is one of ten active college lacrosse coaches to reach this milestone. Hannan joins an exclusive group of just nine other active NCAA Division I coaches who have 200+ wins in their career.

"We are very excited to include Coach Hannan to our Atlanta Blaze staff. In a very short time he has built Mercer lacrosse into an excellent lacrosse program. Kyle has a great reputation as an outstanding coach and mentor throughout the collegiate ranks. He will add a detail-oriented approach to growing the Blaze organization throughout the local lacrosse community. We are beyond thrilled that he will be with us this season," said Coach Tucker

The Blaze will play their next home game on Saturday, May 14 against the Denver Outlaws.
