Atlanta Blaze News Release
Kennesaw, GA - Tomorrow, Saturday April 14th, the Atlanta Blaze host their final training camp prior to the season opener next Sunday. As part of training camp the Blaze will put on a free Blaze v Blaze scrimmage open to the public.
All players will be on display in the intra-squad scrimmage this Saturday at 6pm at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Gates open at 5:30pm.
The Blaze held the first training camp from March 29thto the 31st, the first official event head coach Liam Banks presided over in his current role. Atlanta Blaze captains Scott Ratliff, Kevin Rice, and Adam Ghitelman were standouts on the field as well as recent acquisitions Matt Gibson, Tom Palasek, and James Fahey.
General Manager Spencer Ford has high expectations for the final training camp: "We're expecting first and foremost for the guys come back with great energy, for some of the vets to dial in and get us prepared as well as for some new players to take steps to make a push for starting 19 and certainly the 25-man active roster. We expect all the players to make our jobs very difficult come Monday morning when rosters are due. The biggest part of camp will be the scrimmage on Saturday night, and that should show us the huge amount of talent we really have. There's nothing like a stadium full of MLL fans to make guys play at the top of their game."
The Blaze's 25-man active roster will be announced Monday.
