Despite a five-point performance by rookie Connor Kelly, the Blaze fall to the first place Rattlers
Kennesaw, GA- The Atlanta Blaze (3-6) fell to the the Dallas Rattlers (8-2) last night at Fifth Third Bank Stadium, 14-16, behind stellar play in goal by rookie Connor Kelly. Kelly, the Blaze's first-round draft pick put up his first hat trick as well as his first two-point goal, to supply five points for the Blaze. The Blaze were also bolstered by goalie Adam Ghitelman who ended the game with a 61% save percentage.
LSM Scott Ratliff, typically known for his two-pointers, scored one goal and supplied two assists. Deemer Class and Matt Gibson both put up two goals, and faceoff specialist Joe Nardella put up a goal and an assist. John Ranagan of the Rattlers had four goals and one two-point goal, barely edging Kelly out for Coca Cola Player of the Game.
Following a break for the World Games, the Blaze will return to Fifth Third Bank Stadium on July 26th to take on the Chesapeake Bayhawks
