Question from BL, Little Rock: "I just heard that the ABA is coming back to Little Rock. Do you think that Little Rock is big enough for the ABA and the development team?"
Answer: BL. Thanks for the question. We just made the announcement but you would not believe the response we have had so far. Amazing. We did give this a lot of thought. And we believe that it is up to the fans of Little Rock to make the decision. We do know that the city supported the ABA very well (the best in the league) and liked the ABA's brand of fast-paced professional basketball and entertainment at affordable prices. We do know that fans enjoyed seeing players like Todd Day and Oliver Miller and others and competing with teams closeby. The free enterprise system is about competition - like Lowes vs Home Depot or Target vs Wal-Mart or Ford vs GM. Quality products, quality service, good value. It will be the ABA's goal to provide those things to the people of Little Rock. The new team owner has a lot of work to do, but the foundation - strong fan support - is there and we are comfortable that the ABA will be competitive. Thanks for your interest. Tell your friends. If you have a question, please email joenewman@abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
