Ask the CEO

Question from Paul W, Chicago (and quite a few others): "Are the teams that you have listed on the ABA web site all of the teams that will be playing this season?"

Answer: Paul (et al): Thank you for the questions I am pleased that you are following the ABA so closely, especially during the "off season." It is gratifying to know that there is such a high level of interest in the league and that the traffic to the ABA web site is continuing at a high level through the spring and summer. The answer to your questions is that we have "closed out" expansion for 2006 but have not announced all of the expansion teams yet. We have several new teams that have not been announced but will be over the next two weeks. We will also be announcing 2007 expansion teams (as we did last Friday with Nashville) interspersed with the new 2006 teams. The ABA is growing rapidly because we believe we offer the most exciting, fun-filled professional basketball and entertainment at affordable prices. And I want to stress the entertainment part - as you will see a whole new look to the ABA this season with the addition of exciting entertainment as well as basketball - very family oriented, and always very affordable. Again, thanks for the questions and the interest. If you have a question, email joenewman@abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
