Question from Jaime R, LA: "Will the Mexican teams be playing games in the U.S. and specifically, will they come to Los Angeles?"
Answer: Jaime. Thank you for the email and questions. We have had a very positive response to the announcement about Monterrey already. And we'll be announcing additional Mexican teams shortly. The answer is yes - the Mexican teams will be playing games in the U.S. and will be playing games in the Los Angeles area against several of our teams there.
There's no doubt that there is a very large Mexican population in the U.S. and that our Mexican teams will be very competitive and will draw very well here. We are even making plans to send some of the Mexican teams to some of our Northern cities with large Hispanic populations like Chicago, New York, Detroit etc., and of course, our Texas cities too. We are extremely excited about our expansion into Mexico as we are with our expansion into Canada. The ABA is truly an international league and you have only seen the "tip of the iceberg." Again, thanks for the question. If you have a question, please email joenewman@abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
