
Arizona's Smith Named Assistant Coach of the Year

CHICAGO - Arizona Rattlers defensive coordinator Omarr Smith has been named the NET10 Wireless Assistant Coach of the Year, the Arena Football League office announced today.
Smith, a finalist for the Arena Football Hall of Fame Class of 2013, coached a defensive unit that finished second in the League in scoring defense, giving up an average of 48.1 points per game. In his fourth season with the team, the Rattlers finished with a 15-3 record and earned their third consecutive West Division title. Smith played nine seasons in the AFL as a defensive back and won four ArenaBowls as a player. He was named Defensive Player of the Game in ArenaBowl XXI.
