Arizona Sting Sign Team Captain Peter Lough

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Sting General Manager and Head Coach Bob Hamley announced today that the Sting has signed defenseman Peter Lough to a one-year contract.

Last season, Lough represented Arizona at the NLL All-Star Game, his first career All-Star appearance. The 30-year-old Lough recorded 9 goals, 8 assists, 17 points and 97 loose balls in 16 games with the Sting in 2005. He also collected 1-5-6 and 17 loose balls in 3 playoff games. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder is Arizona's team captain and led the team in faceoffs taken in both the regular season and playoffs.

"Peter has been a great leader on and off the floor for us the past two years," said Hamley. "We are excited to know that he will fill that role for us in ‘05-06."

The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). In only their second season in the Valley, the Sting finished the 2005 season with a 9-7 record, winning the Western Division playoffs before losing to the Toronto Rock in the Champion's Cup Final.
