Arizona Heat News Release

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Heat of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) announced this afternoon that the team will host a Fireworks Extravaganza immediately following their home game with the California Sunbirds on Saturday, July 31.

The fireworks show will be a full-length production and will be similar to one you would see on the Fourth of July. The players and coaches of the Heat will enjoy the fireworks from the stands, in a unique opportunity for fans to interact directly with the players.

Game time for Saturday is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. PDT with newcomer Danielle Henderson expected to take the mound for the Heat. She will most likely be opposed on the mound by "Everyday" Jodie Cox. Henderson is 2-0 since being acquired 10 days ago in a trade with the Akron Racers.

The game with the Sunbirds begins a mini three-game home stand for the Heat. The series is important for the Heat, as they trail the New England Riptide by 3.5 games for the final playoff spot in the league.

For additional information on the Heat or to purchase tickets, please contact the team directly at 520-296-9595 or visit them on the web at www.tucsonsoftball.com. Tickets for all Arizona home games range from $3-11 and are available for purchase on the day of the game at the Heat Ticket Office.

The Arizona Heat is a first-year franchise that plays their home games at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson. The regular season began on June 1 and will end on August 18th when the Heat will host the Juggernaut in a doubleheader beginning at 7:05 p.m. PDT.

National Pro Fastpitch is the only professional women's fastpitch league in the United States. The league is headquartered in Denver, and has been in operation since 1997 under the names Women's Pro Fastpitch (WPF) and Women's Professional Softball League (WPSL).
