Solar Sox 4, Javelinas 3

A ninth-inning jack by White Sox prospect Brian Anderson gave the Solar Sox a 4-3 win over the Javelinas. Anderson finished the day 2-for 3, with two RBIs and a run scored. Pitcher Russ Rohlicek (CHC) earned his second win of the season. Southpaw Carmen Cali (STL) was credited with his third save.

For the Javelinas, Jake Dittler (CLE) pitched four solid innings allowing only one run on four hits. No Peoria batter had more than one hit. Pitcher Brad Baker (SD) was credited with the loss. Baker gave up the Anderson home run in the ninth.

Desert Dogs 4, Saguaros 3

In a game of cat and mouse, Kansas City Royals prospect Mark Teahan ended the chase with a two-run single in the bottom of the 11th inning and handed Phoenix a 4-3 win. The Desert Dogs record improved to 14-6 and they remain in first place in the National Division with a 5.5 game lead.

The Desert Dogs were held scoreless through seven innings of play behind the dominating pitching of Bobby Bradley (PIT), Jeremy Harts (PIT) and Matt Lorenzo (TEX). Bradley threw five innings of two-hit ball with seven strikeouts. Rangers prospect Jason Botts and Mets prospect Brett Harper had four hits apiece leading the Saguaros offense. Freddy Sanchez (PIT) and Harper each had a home run for Peoria.

Jeremy Brown (OAK) was the lone Desert Dogs batter to have more than one hit. Brown finished a perfect 2-for-2 including a home run and two RBIs. Pitcher Dan Giese (PHI) notched his second win of the season.

Scorpions 8, Rafters 2

Nine Scottsdale batters came to the plate in the fifth inning and broke the game open when they scored six runs on four hits. The Scorpions would add two more insurance runs in the ninth to secure the 8-2 win. Diamondbacks prospects Conor Jackson and Marland Williams led the Scottsdale offense with three hits apiece. Jackson finished 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Williams went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored.

The Rafters jumped on the board early scoring one run in the first inning. Grand Canyon would drive in their final run in the fourth. Twins prospect Kevin West was the lone Rafter with two hits. West added an RBI in the Grand Canyon effort.

Ryan Howard (CIN) and Charlton Jimerson (HOU) combined for four hits and three RBIs. Mark McLemore (HOU) earned his third win of the season.
