Arizona Adrenaline News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, ARIZ. (Dec. 4, 2007) -- After playing professional football for 11 years and coaching five more, Andrew Moore has become the first head coach in Arizona Adrenaline history.
The Adrenaline, based in Prescott Valley, Ariz., made the announcement of Moore official on Tuesday as they get set to embark on their first season in the 16-team American Indoor Football Association.
"I'm so excited about this thing that I can't sleep at night," said the 35-year-old Moore, who played on the offensive line for the Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers in the mid-1990s after playing at Sonoma State University in northern California. "We have great ownership that cares about its players, coaches and community more than any that I've worked for."
After short stints with the Jaguars and 49ers, Moore was allocated to NFL Europe and later played in the Arena Football league with the San Jose SaberCats and New England Sea Wolves, then played four seasons in the Canadian Football League with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Argonauts and Calgary Stampeders.
His coaching stops have included working in the Regional Football League, Southwest Football League, National Indoor Football League and AFL2 in addition to coaching an NFL strength and conditioning program with former San Diego Chargers head coach and General Manager Harland Svare.
"His vast football experience, both as a player and coach, is what we liked about Drew the most," Adrenaline General Manager Jim Shipp said of Moore. "He may not have coached 10 or 20 years of arena football, but having been a former player himself he understands players and has a great understanding of offensive and defensive schemes. We feel like he can do big things here."
The Adrenaline will play a 14-game schedule, with seven home games slated for Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley. Season tickets are now on sale and available to the public by calling Get Tix at 866-443-8849, or online by going to www.GetTix.net.
