March 1, 2007 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Columbia Stingers News Release

Columbia, SC, February 22, 2007-Today the Columbia Stingers, the arena football team, announced the opening of their season ticket sales. Season ticket prices start at $70 and can be purchased on the Colonial Center website, box office or by phone by calling 1-866-4SC-TIXX.

Individual tickets will go on sale March 5th at 10:00 a.m. They will range from $5 to $35 making it affordable for an entire family to enjoy a night of arena football. They can be purchased through the Colonial Center, select Piggly Wiggly Grocery Stores and Play-It-Again Sports.

The Stinger's first game will be held at the Colonial Center on March 17th. The team is competing with the popular St. Patrick's Day at Five Points, but they don't think it will be a problem since St. Patrick's Day events finish before their 7:00 p.m. game.

"We aren't worried about competing with St. Patty's. I am confident that we will fill our stands with excited fans. We normally draw more families to our games so we will still have good attendance at our first game," says Stinger's President, Tony Pewonski.

After signing Corey Miller, former Gamecock and NY Giant's linebacker, as their head coach, the team has been taken to a whole new level. Since Miller is such a popular figure here in Columbia, tickets are projected to exceed original expectations.

"I am very excited to be a part of this team and I think it is going to be really great for Columbia since it is such a big football town," says Miller.

The arena football team promises to bring fun and great entertainment for the whole family. There will be pre/post game parties, lots of giveaways, dance team performances and of course hard-hitting football.

"We keep our fans entertained during the entire game starting two hours before game time. We want our fans to have when they come watch us [Columbia Stingers] play," says Pewonski.
