Tampa Yankees News Release
Tampa, Fla. - The Florida State League announced today the addition of RHP Andrew Schwaab to the 2017 FSL North Division All-Star Roster. Schwaab fills an opening left after the promotion of RHP Dillon McNamara to Double-A Trenton on Tuesday.
Schwaab joins INF/OF Jorge Mateo, OF Tito Polo and RHPs Zack Littell and Jose Mesa to represent the Tampa Yankees. Like McNamara, LHP Josh Rogers and RHP Cody Carroll were also originally named All-Stars, but were replaced by Littell and Mesa after earning promotions to Double-A Trenton.
Through his first 15 relief appearances, Schwaab is 3-1 with one save and a 4.98 ERA (21.2IP, 24H, 12ER, 6BB, 22K). The 24-year-old is a Mid-Season All-Star selection for the second-straight year after representing the Single-A Charleston RiverDogs in the 2016 South Atlantic League All-Star Game. The Yankees signed Schwaab as a non-drafted free agent on 6/16/15 after he pitched collegiately at the University of Missouri.
The 56th FSL All-Star Game will be played at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium, the home of the Lakeland Flying Tigers, on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
