Anaheim Bolts Home Opener Just Hours Away

November 12, 2011 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Anaheim Bolts News Release

Anaheim, CA- It may be three hours till game time, but the Anaheim Convention Center Arena is already buzzing in anticipation as indoor soccer is set to return to Orange County after a grueling 14 year wait.

The Anaheim Bolts (the first indoor team to feature since the Anaheim Splash folded in 1997) play their historic first match in the Professional Arena Soccer league (PASL). The Bolts face off against perhaps the most famous name in indoor soccer, The San Diego Sockers.

Anaheim mayor, Tom Tait will be on hand for the ceremonial first kick.

The Sockers are the two-time defending PASL champions, and have among their ranks, PASL MVP Kraig Chiles (32 goals last season) and the PASL's fastest man, Brian Farber.

The Bolts will not be overawed by the opposition, however, as Owner and Head Coach Bernie Lilavois has put together an extraordinary roster of wily veterans and promising youngsters. Among the team leaders is former Sockers midfielder and indoor soccer legend Paul Wright. Joining "Wrighteous", are promising local products such as Orange's Carlos Borja and Corona resident, Patric Ruiz.

The Bolts are also strengthened by yesterday's signing of Adriano de Lima. The Brazilian is a former San Diego Socker and Nike Skills Team member will not feature tonight, but ads even more depth to an already talented squad. Lima's signing will make competition even more fierce among the players as they battle each week to make the 14-man game-day roster.

Lilavois is so confident with the squad he's assembled that he has guaranteed all season ticket holders that the Bolts will make the playoffs in their first season. If the Bolts fail in their promise, then all season ticket holders this year will have next season's tickets paid for by the club.

The Bolts motto is "Believe in Destiny." The club is looking forward to a promising turnout in the franchise's opener. The organization believes this is just the first match of what will be a long and prosperous relationship with the city of Anaheim, its people, and a trophy cabinet which will fill up in due time.

Kickoff is set for 8:00 PM EST and good tickets are still available by going to www.boltsoccer.com or by calling (714) 321-9898. If fans bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Bolts food drive, their tickets will be half-off. Walk-up media will also be welcomed and accommodated.
