Rochester Americans defenseman Mike Caruso is this week's featured player on Amerks.com in the first installment of the team's summer player profiles. For the third straight summer, Amerks.com will highlight a different Amerks player each Friday throughout the summer months. Caruso, 22, just completed his second season with Rochester in 2009-10, capturing career-highs in both assists (10) and points (11) while appearing in 67 games. A native of Mississauga, Ontario, the 6-foot-2, 191-pound blueliner has compiled 21 points (2+19) and 108 penalty minutes in 140 career games for the Amerks. Caruso was the Florida Panthers' fourth-round selection (103rd overall) in the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

1.) What was the high point of the 2009-10 season?
Our 11-game win-streak in the beginning of the season.
2.) Where did you go after the season ended?
Turks and Caicos
3.) When will you begin on-ice training?
I'll most likely start getting ready for next season in mid-July.
4.) What are you working on to get to the NHL? Need to get bigger and stronger to better perform my defensive duties.
5.) How do you spend your free time? Playing golf, spending time with friends and playing my guitar.
6.) What is your favorite vacation spot? St. Maarten.
7.) Did you watch the NHL playoffs? If so what team were you pulling for? Yes, I liked both teams that were in the Finals (Chicago and Philadelphia), but would have liked to see Philly take it.
8.) Any plans for the summer? Just work hard at my training and enjoy my time off.

 Tiger Woods.

10.)Â What's one thing you can't live without?
My guitar.

11.)Â In the summer, do you prefer to work out or cook out?
Cook out, but I do much more working out, unfortunately.

Ice cream.

Remember the Titans.

The passionate fans and the rich hockey tradition.

Mike Duco.

Its fast-paced, high intensity, highly skilled and hard hitting. No other sport comes close.

Yes. Very much so.
