Americans Deliver Early White Christmas

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, along with radio partner Hot 107.3 FM, delivered an early White Christmas along with gifts from Santa Claus to a family in Sherman, Texas, on Monday morning.
It's year five for the ECHL hockey team to deliver an early White Christmas to one lucky family in North Texas. However, this year the Americans are taking it one step further and delivering two families a yard full of snow in the Guaranteed White Christmas promotion.
On Monday morning, the Americans front office staff, along with several Ice Angels, gathered at Allen Event Center at 5:00 am to help load six trucks full of snow courtesy of Allen Event Center. Three trucks departed for downtown Dallas and WFAA Channel 8, the local ABC affiliate, where the snow would be deposited in the parking lot of the station to promote the upcoming event. Meanwhile, the other three trucks headed north to Sherman, Texas, about 45 minutes north of Allen, to deliver snow to the Litke family which won a contest courtesy of the Americans radio partner Hot 107.3 FM. Santa Claus delivered gifts to the kids while both staffs unloaded the snow in the family's front yard.
"This was a great surprise for our family," said Litke. "My children have been talking about a White Christmas all month long. I can't thank the Allen Americans and Hot 107.3 FM enough for the time and generosity this holiday season. You made this Christmas one of the best ever."
The Americans will do it one more time, delivering snow to the Springer family of McKinney, Texas, on Christmas Eve morning. Robert Springer and his family won a contest through the Allen Americans and will get their wish and some snow on Wednesday morning. WFAA TV will be on hand for live footage of the event, as the Americans continue their tradition of a Guaranteed White Christmas.
