American Longevity extends contract with Rome Gladiators owner Theo Ratliff
San Diego, California - American Longevity today announced the extension of NBA All-Star Theo Ratliff's endorsement contract for Rebound fxTM to a lifetime contract. The deal is an extension to his 10 year contract signed in November 2003 and has been extended due to the success of the sports drink.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Steve Wallach, General Manager of American Longevity, said he'd never before signed a "lifetime" deal with any athlete. "It is a great honor and privilege to have bestowed upon me to represent a company and products that have helped revitalize my career and that represent sharing nutrition throughout the world. I am excited about being a permanent part of Rebound fxTM and providing what I feel is one of the important missing Longevity Links in sports health, Rebound fxTM," Ratliff said.
Like many NBA players, Ratliff has been using American Longevity products to insure his continued excellent health and to get that "competitive edge" so important to professional athletes. Ratliff's name and image are featured prominently on the packaging for Rebound fxTM, which comes in three flavors: Tropical Tirade, Melon Madness and Berri Boost.
Ratliff is one of the NBA's most dominating defensive players known for his hustle on and off the court. However after a series of injury plague seasons, Ratliff reached a low point in the 2001-2002 season when he missed 79 games. He committed himself to American Longevity products and (REBOUNDED) to lead the NBA in shots blocked for the second time in his career and to play, for the first time in his career 81 of 82 regular season games. Ratliff has become an American Longevity advocate to teammates and his peers in the NBA.
Ratliff is also widely known for his commitment to literacy and is a frequent participant in the Atlanta Hawks' and Portland Trail Blazers' "Read to Achieve" program. He also volunteers with the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc. and The Mike Glenn Camp for the Hearing Impaired. In September Ratliff opened the Theo Ratliff Activity Center in his hometown of Demopolis, AL targeted to serve at risk children.
The 6'10" center will be entering his eleventh season in the NBA. Ratliff has steadily become an all-around force in the NBA. He is widely known for his tireless energy - just the kind of reputation that makes him a perfect match for American Longevity's REBOUNDfx.
Ratliff, Wallach and Glenn have a strong common bond to the World Basketball Association (WBA), the third-year professional basketball league. Ratliff is the owner of the WBA's Rome (GA) Gladiators franchise. Ratliff's positive energy and unparralled support helped set the tone for the Gladiators to rise from worst-to-first last season, as the Glads won the 2005 WBA Champioship. Wallach also was the owner of the first year WBA franchise, Cleveland (TN) Majic. And, Glenn is the League Commissioner for the World Basketball Association..
