Amarillo, TX. 06/06/12: Amarillo Venom is proud to announce three new players that will make their Venom debut this weekend against Laredo. Kyle Wilson, David Irizary, and Rashaun Jones.
Kyle Wilson
Wilson is a DL who spent his college career at Eastern New Mexico University. Wilson recorded 171 tackles and 18 sacks while at ENMU, placing him in the top 2 for the school history. After college he made his arena football debut with the Amarillo Dusters, and later played for the Cleveland Gladiators . The Venom is excited to have Wilson back in Amarillo and look forward to seeing his presence on the Venom defense.
Rashaun Jones
Florida native, Rashaun Jones began his career at the University of Miami and later played for Winston Salem State University. Jones played for Venom rival Rio Grande Valley during the 2012 LSFL season. Recently released from Rio Grande Valley Jones is happy to be in Amarillo.
David Irizarry
Irizarry joins the Venom after being released by the Rio Grande Valley Magic. Irizarry played defensive back at Winston Salem State University, in addition to starring as the kick returner where he averaged over 20 yards per return. Before being released, Irizarry was second on the Rio Grande Valley defense in solo tackles and pass break-ups, while leading the team in interceptions with 6.
The Venom is excited to bring these players to the table and anxious to see them perform this weekend against Laredo!
