Amarillo, TX 2/10/12: The Amarillo Venom will be participating in the Cupid's Chase 5K Run tomorrow at Thompson Park, 2401 Dumas Drive in Amarillo, TX, at 8:00am.
Assistant Executive Director of Cupid's Chase, Desiree Banda said, "Community Options of Amarillo is very excited to be hosting this year's Cupid Chase 5K! Since it is a nationwide event occurring in 26 cities, it will be a great way to create national support and awareness for intellectuals with developmental disability. The event will take place regardless of the weather, so please come out and support the individuals of Community Options! Community Options is also very thankful to all of our sponsors and greatly appreciate their support in this wonderful cause!"
Cupid's Chase is a national 5K Run that takes place in 26 cities throughout 10 states, on the same day and at the same time. Community Options, Inc. is the host of the national Cupid's Chase 5K Run. Community Options is a national nonprofit that has been developing community- based homes and employment supports for people with disabilities since 1989.
Your Amarillo Venom will be attending Cupid's Chase to support this amazing nonprofit organization in hopes of making a difference. The Venom will have a booth set up for players to sign autographs, pictures with Striker the mascot, meet and greet with the Vixen dancers, a drawing to win a pair of FREE season tickets, and much more!
Registration costs $35 per person and starts at 8:00am with the race beginning at 10:00am. There will be lots of food, beverages, and giveaways for all. Those who register for Cupid's Chase will receive a FREE ticket to a Venom home football game! So, bring your family out for a wonderful time to support a wonderful cause. The Venom will be having their second round of football tryouts on Saturday, February 18th at Tascosa High School. Those interested can pre-register online at the official Amarillo Venom website. Registration costs $50 per person and begins at 8:00am on the 18th. Workout clothes and cleats are suggested for tryouts.
