
Alpena Beverage (Miller Lite) to sponsor IceDigger Exhibition versus Black Bears

Alpena IceDiggers News Release
The Alpena IceDiggers and Alpena Beverage (Miller Lite) have teamed up to bring great Northern Michigan hockey action to ring in the New Year. The New Year's exhibition game will be held on January 2, 2006 at 7:00pm between the IceDiggers and the Northern Michigan Black Bears, of the Northern Ontario Hockey League. Alpena Beverage (Miller Lite) will be sponsoring the game and all proceeds will benefit the St. Bernard's Friendship Room, the Alpena Hockey Association Youth Hockey program and the Alpena Women's Hockey Program. Fans will be admitted FREE of charge with a donation of 2 canned goods to be donated directly to the Friendship Room. Other donations to help this exemplary cause will also be appreciated.
For every goal scored by the IceDiggers, Alpena Beverage (Miller Lite) will donate $25 to the Friendship Room as well as $25 to both the youth and women hockey programs in Alpena. "What a wonderful opportunity we have here for the Alpena IceDigger organization," General Manager and Head Coach Kenny Miller stated, "Alpena Beverage (Miller Lite) and the IceDiggers ownership's generosity and donations are going to be such a benefit to the Friendship Room and the Alpena Hockey Organizations, as well as bringing in the New Year with some great hockey action for the Alpena Community free of charge." Miller went on to say, "Alpena Beverage (Miller Lite) has truly been an amazing fan and now to partner with them is a remarkable thing for our organization and to benefit the community is something that we hope to maintain for a long time."
During the 1st intermission, members from the Alpena Hockey Association will compete in a shootout against the IceDiggers goalies. The 2nd intermission will host a celebrity shootout with members of the Alpena Community.
The match-up of these two teams is the first time that the two leagues have competed in Alpena. The Northern Ontario Hockey League is the Junior A hockey league which is equivalent to the North American Hockey League, in which the IceDiggers are apart of. This first meeting proves to be exciting, charitable and enjoyable for the entire Alpena community.

IceDiggers add the Hudick Twins to Roster
The Alpena IceDiggers members of the NAHL announced today the signing of two players. Earl Hudick and Ed Hudick have been traded to the IceDiggers from the Toledo Cherokee (CSHL). "Both players will add depth and energy to our line up in the second half of the season." GM/Head Coach Kenny Miller stated. "I am confident that they will bring a hardworking mentality to our team day in and day out." The Hudick twins will see action in the exhibition game versus the Black Bears on Monday, January 2, 2006. Face off is set for 7:00pm IceDiggers Hockey.....CAN YOU DIG IT.
