Alouettes Clinch East Division

Published on October 4, 2009 under Canadian Football League (CFL) News Release

Toronto, ON (October 4, 2009) - The Montreal Alouettes have clinched the East Division for the second-straight season.

The Alouettes improved their record to 11-2 yesterday by defeating the Toronto Argonauts 27-8 at Rogers Centre. That victory, combined with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats loss to the Calgary Stampeders, guarantees Montreal first place in the standings. Montreal has 22 points and can only be equalled by Hamilton, who they have defeated twice this year.

The Alouettes will host the Eastern Final at Olympic Stadium on Sunday, November 22 at 1:00pm ET (TSN/RDS).
