ALL HOME GAMES AT PEPSI COLISEUM UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED
PRACTICE SCHEDULE: The Ice is scheduled to practice at Pepsi Coliseum Monday and Wednesday from 2:45-4:45 pm and Tuesday at Carmel Ice Skadium from 2-3:30 pm.
ALL-STAR CALLING: Ice goaltender Brett Bennett, defenseman Joe Hartman and forwards Shane Berschbach, Mike Cichy, Stanislav Galiev and Brandon Richardson will play in the 2009 USHL Prospects/All-Star Game this Wednesday (2/4) in Sioux Falls, SD. Puck drops at 8:05 pm.
DONE GAMBLIN': The Ice is happy that the Gamblers are off their schedule for a while as Green Bay continued their 2009 perfection with a pair of wins over the weekend against Indiana. Four of Indy's 11 losses this season have come at the hands of the Gamblers, who have not lost since 12/19/08. Indy out shot Green Bay 83-55 on the weekend, but the Gamblers went 5-10 on the power play.
LAMPLIGHTERS: With markers over the past week, forwards Ben Albertson and Zach Golembiewski became the sixth and seventh Ice players to reach the double digit mark in goals. Albertson has scored a goal in three of his last four contests, while Golembiewski has a goal in two of his last three games.
PLAYER SHORTS: Mike Cichy is tied for fifth in the USHL in scoring (43 pts) and he has 14 points (6G, 8A) in seven games with the Ice...Brandon Richardson is seventh in the league in scoring (40 pts) and has eight points (2G, 6A) in his last seven contests...Brett Bennett is first among USHL goaltenders in wins (21)...Torey Krug is tied for sixth among league d-men in points (21)....John Parker has three assists in his last four games.
TEAM SCUTTLEBUTT: The Ice has lost four of their last five at home....Eight of the team's ten games in the month of February are on the road, where Indy has a 7-5-2 mark so far this season...The Ice had over 40 shots in back to back games this weekend...Indiana is 12-4-0 against the West and 12-7-2 against the East...The Ice is 10-1-2 in one-goal games.
COLLEGE ROW: Mike Gurtler (2006-07) scored the game-winner in overtime for Mercyhurst in a 3-2 win over Air Force on Saturday...Adam Cardwell (2004-05) had a goal and an assist for Alaska in a weekend split with Ohio State...Mike Embach (2006-07) notched a goal and an assist for Ferris State in a 7-1 rout of UNO on Friday...Matt Hoyle (2007-08) made 28 saves for Harvard in their 3-1 win over Union on Friday...Alec Richards (2004-05) only gave up one goal for Yale in two weekend wins over Princeton and Quinnipiac...Sean Dolan (2004-06) recorded the game-winner for Wisconsin in Friday's win over Minnesota-Duluth...Brian Gifford (2004-06) registered three points for Denver in a weekend split with Alaska-Anchorage.
