All-Arena WR Darius Reynolds Joins SaberCats

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose SaberCats announced today that they have been assigned 2014 Second-Team All-Arena wide receiver Darius Reynolds.

"Darius proved last season that he can be an elite receiver in this league," said Owner and Head Coach Darren Arbet. "He adds another vertical threat to our team, and he has a nose for the end zone."

Reynolds (6-2, 205, Iowa State) led the Arena Football League last season with 47 total touchdowns and finished fourth in the league with 15.0 yards per catch.

In 2014, Reynolds had a breakout season with the Iowa Barnstormers, posting career highs in receptions (126, 4th in the AFL), yards (1,884, 2nd in AFL) and receiving touchdowns (39, 2nd in AFL). He also added eight rushing touchdowns en route to earning Second-Team All-Arena honors.

A three-year AFL veteran, Reynolds broke into the league with Iowa in 2012, appearing in three games. In his first full season in 2013, he caught 48 passes for 647 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Barnstormers.

Reynolds attended Iowa State University after transferring from Reedley College. With Reedley, he played one season as quarterback, throwing for 1,752 yards with 13 touchdowns while adding 749 yards rushing with 11 scores on the ground. As a member of Iowa State, the Woodbridge, Virginia native hauled in 81 receptions for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns at wide receiver.
