Alexis Lafreniere Named Ultramar Player of the Week for Week 21

Boucherville, QC - The latest Ultramar Player for the Week is Rimouski Oceanic winger Alexis Lafrenière. In a pair of home games, the 18-year-old from Saint-Eustache, Quebec scored twice and added eight assists as the powerful Oceanic continued its winning ways.

On Friday night, the third-year veteran scored once and added a pair of assists, including a helper on the eventual game-winner, in Rimouski's 5-3 victory over the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. While Lafrenière was awarded the game's second star, the Oceanic rolled to its 11th straight win.

Sunday afternoon would be a day to remember for Lafrenière. The Oceanic captain scored once and added six assists as his team easily rolled to its 12thstraight triumph with an 11-2 decision over the Quebec Remparts. For Lafrenière, who was, not surprisingly, named the game's first star, it was his first career seven-point outing and just one point shy of the single game franchise record.

The projected first overall selection at the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Lafrenière's offensively charged week has seen his lead in the QMJHL scoring race balloon. With 99 points, he currently leads linemate Cedric Paré by 17. Lafrenière has connected at a torrid pace so far in February, registering 15 points in five games during the month.
