Alex Zotinca Fined and Suspended by MLS Disciplinary Committee

NEW YORK (Friday, September 10, 2004) – Major League Soccer's Disciplinary Committee announced today that Kansas City Wizards defender Alex Zotinca has been issued an additional fine and suspension.

Zotinca, who was shown a red card for a challenge on Chicago Fire defender C.J. Brown on Wednesday, September 1 at Soldier Field, received a one-game suspension and $500 fine in addition to the automatic one-game suspension and $250 fine imposed for the red card. After sitting out his first game due to suspension on September 4 (vs. MetroStars), the Wizards' player will also miss his team's next match against the Colorado Rapids on Friday, September 10.

The 24th weekend of the MLS regular season continues with one game on Friday, September 10, followed by three games on Saturday, September 11. This weekend's schedule follows:
