Alex Harper Named 6th Man Of The Year

Chicago, IL...Alex Harper, a 6-4 guard from the Wilmington Sea Dawgs was named the Premier Basketball League 6th Man of the Year for the 2008-09 season. Harper, a 6-4 shooting guard from Virginia Commonwealth, was selected by of a vote of the PBL's head coaches.

Harper was a devastating force off the bench all season long for the Sea Dawgs. He averaged 18.4 points in only 30 minutes a game for the Sea Dawgs. Harper was able to contribute in every aspect of the game as he pulled down 5.4 rpg. 3.0 apg., and 1.8 spg.

Harper had a season high 33 points, as the Sea Dawgs knocked off the Battle Creek Knights for the Knights first loss of the season. Harper really stepped up during the playoffs. Alex had 18 points in the PBL Play-In game as the Sea Dawgs advanced to face the Knights. Harper chipped in 21 points, 14 points, and 23 points as the Sea Dawgs were eliminated in the PBL Playoffs.

"Alex was an important part of our success this season," said Sea Dawgs head coach Dale Kuhl. "He gave us another weapon off the bench with his scoring ability. We would not have the season we had if not for Alex."
