Alec Kirschner Signs with Danbury

The Danbury Whalers have announced that forward Alec Kirschner has signed an agreement to return to the Danbury Whalers. Kirschner will be in the lineup with the team this weekend.

In two years, Kirschner, from Dix Hills, New York, has played 36 career games for the Danbury Whalers. Over that stretch, he has scored 46 goals (most in franchise history), 38 assists (4th best), and is tied with Chris Seifert for most overall points (84).

Last year with the Whalers, The King, played 19 games for the Whalers with 24 goals and 20 assists. Kirschner also played 30 games in the ECHL registering 2 points and playing in 2 playoff games.

Kirschner attended the University of Connecticut where he played in 36 games scoring 7 goals.

Danbury Whalers, Senior Partner, President, & CFO, Alan Friedman commented, "Alec has been such a big part of Danbury Whalers hockey. When we got a chance to make it happen this year we went full speed ahead. A player like Alec is special. You've got the greatest fans in the best building in minor league hockey, you do whatever it takes to get them a winner."

Whalers Home This Saturday Night

There is nothing like a Saturday Night of Danbury Whalers Hockey. This Saturday, January 19th at 7:35 PM the league's top team the Dayton Demonz come into town and it is going to be a barn burner.

It's the first game of three straight home games with the Whalers hitting the ice on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Be sure to be there for all the hard hitting action, bring a friend, bring a buddy, bring your dad - have a great time and let it all hang out.

Skate with the Whalers

Hit the ice this Sunday

This Sunday, January 20th, following the Whalers 5:05 PM game against the Danville Dashers, fans will be invited onto the ice to skate with the Whalers players.

Traditionally after every Whalers home game the players sign autographs for the fans in the lobby, but for this game fans will have a chance to put on their skates and hit the ice with the favorite men in green.

The players will be available for pictures during this event as well. So put on your skates, bring your camera and head down to the Danbury Ice Arena for what is sure to be a great event.

Fans looking to rent skates that day, can pick up a pair at the Danbury Ice Arena for $4 at the skate rental desk at the arena.
