Albany, New York - In partnership with Capital Region Living Magazine, the Albany Legends are proud to announce the first annual Albany Legends College Scholarship Program for the 2010 season.
The $500 scholarship for 2010 will be awarded to a college-bound high-school senior in the Capital Region. The award winner will be determined by a 500-word essay contest, entitled "Why my community is important to me and how I try to make it a better place to live." The winning essay will be published in the August 2010 edition of Capital Region Living Magazine.
The deadline for scholarship applications is June 5, 2010. The winner will be announced at the Legends final 2010 home game on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 5 PM, when the Legends take on the Kankakee County (Windy City) Soldiers during Fan Appreciation Night.
The Legends are proud of our partnership with Capital Region Living Magazine. Together, this partnership has made it possible for us to play a small role in assisting a deserving, college-bound young adult to realize his or her dreams!
Applications will be available at all Legends home games throughout the 2010 season, beginning on April 9th.
The Albany Legends are ushering in a new era of "pro ball with a community purpose."
