Albany Legends News Release
Albany, New York - The Albany Legends have announced updates to their upcoming 2010 schedule. The 2010 Legends inaugural season kicks off April 9th at the Washington Avenue Armory, and will include a number of high-talent International Basketball League teams, along with a number of promotions.
Legends CEO Steve Miller says, "The schedule improvements announced today are perfect for Albany fans. First, it brings historically successful IBL teams to our fans, with the promise of some very exciting pro basketball. With 15 total home games, including 13 weekend games, along with exciting promotions, it provides flexible and convenient options to ensure fans have many chances to enjoy Legends pro basketball. From a business perspective, it offers weekend dates, and an extremely efficient travel schedule, keeping costs down. That translates into providing professional basketball at a very affordable price for fans."
Teams that will visit the Armory this year include the Elkhart Express, the 2006 and 2007 IBL Champs, who return after a year away from the league. IBL perennial powerhouses, the Tacoma Tide (Washington State), Kankakee Soldiers (Illinois) and the internationally-flavored Edmonton Energy (Alberta) had a combined 2009 league record of 43-20, a.682 winning percentage! The Battle Creek Knights, also returning to the IBL after 2009 in the Premier Basketball League (PBL), are coming to Albany with an 18-2 regular season record!
The league has also announced that the 2010 IBL Championship Tournament will be played at the Yakima Sun Dome, in Yakima, Washington. The team's ownership there has deferred on the 2010 season, and will host the IBL Championships as a neutral site.
Affordable season ticket packages are available for Albany Legends games, starting at $79, $125 & $300. Game day tickets at $7, $10 and $25, plus $1 off with a Price Chopper Advantage Card or Times Union Source Card.
