Alaska To Host First Annual Dare To Dream Tournament

October 29, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Alaska Dream News Release

Anchorage, AK. The new ABA Alaska Dream expansion team getting set to begin its inaugural season in December will host the 1st Annual 'Dare to Dream' Tournament from November 21-23 at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks, Alaska. The tournament was created to fill a community void left by the NCAA tournament, the BP Top of the World Classic. (The tournament was canceled in July after a ten year run in Fairbanks).

According to Trey Davis, team owner, "Our goal is to make this tournament an annual tournament for many years to come."

The four teams participating are the host Alaska Dream, the Maywood Buzz, the Las Vegas Aces and the San Francisco Rumble. The three day round robin tournament will bring the excitement of the ABA to the state of Alaska for the first time in history.

"We are very pleased and proud that Trey and the Alaska Dream are hosting this pre-season tournament," stated Quentin Townsend, ABA President. "I think the fans in Alaska will be very impressed with the quality of ABA players, the excitement of the games, and of course, the affordability. Trey has put together a very good team of local players and we believe they'll acquit themselves well against three of the ABA best squads. It should be quite an event."

Tickets are on sale now at www.ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets. For more information, email trey@thealaskadream.com or call 907 250 8369 or visit www.thealaskadream.com or www.abalive.com.
