
Alain Louis Re-Signs with Alliance for 2023 Season

The Montréal Alliance announced Monday that it has re-signed Montréal native Alain Louis for the 2023 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. Louis was drafted second overall by the Alliance in the 2022 U Sports draft. In 20 regular season games, the point guard averaged 6.3 points, 3.2 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 21.8 minutes per game while shooting 38 percent from three-point range.
"Having the opportunity to represent my city on the court is something I don't take lightly," said Louis. "I'm more than ready to have a direct impact on the team's results and continue to contribute to the organization's community programs."
Louis played four seasons with the Carleton University Ravens and finished his final collegiate year averaging 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists, scoring 15 or more points in seven games and dishing out seven or more assists on four occasions. The 6-foot-1 point guard also led Carleton to a third consecutive national championship in addition to being named the tournament MVP.
In 2020-21, Louis played in the CEBL with the Ottawa BlackJacks as a U Sports developmental player. In 15 games with Ottawa, Louis averaged 7.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
A native of Port-au-Prince, Louis arrived in Montréal at the age of five. Louis attended Thetford Academy before committing to Carleton University.
Louis joins Nathan Cayo as the second member of the 2023 Alliance roster. Fans will have the opportunity to see Louis play 10 times at the Verdun Auditorium.
